Richard is retired from the RAF, well semi-retired. You will fully understand why we say ‘semi’ when you read the list of voluntary work he does around the town.

Richard is a member of the Boston Town Deal Committee. This group unlocks investment in our town and works along the government levelling up agenda.

He is the long-time chair of Boston Big Local, a group of residents who have been given £1 million to invest in the town centre area. Every weekend it is open, you will see Richard helping out at the We’ll Meet Again, WWII Home Front Museum at Frieston Shore. Richard has been part of the group that renovated Pensioners House and renamed it The Local Community Centre, he now sits on the committee that keeps the building open and running.

On reflection, and at this point, we are not even sure Richard is retired at all because there are two more groups which he volunteers with, they are the Boston Hanseatic Society and the Boston War Memorials Maintenance Committee.
